Victorian England

The Victorian era was the precursor to our modern society. It saw the unprecedent growth of industry, trnsportation and technology. But it was also a time and society very different from our own. Here you can learn more about the social context in which Dickens wrote. We will be adding a large number of Victorian text books and magazines including an encyclopedia, which will give an interesting and entertaining insight into the mind of the average Victorian englishman and woman.
